Social Media Tools I use…
I adopted social networking by chance around 5 years back to when I was in college. Primarily it was meant to look at photographs of girls and also to peep into the lives of people around me. I joined the site called Hi5 and I never imagined that it would have a future. I had almost forgotten about Hi5 when Orkut made an entry into India. It was a revelation to many as it enabled to get in touch with people from you kindergarten whom you had almost forgotten over time to long lost relatives and friends abroad. After that, I adopted a lot many social media tools and I am outlining them here.
Social Networking
I am present on most of the social networks. But, the ones I use more often are Orkut and Facebook. Orkut, because all my Indian contacts are over there and Facebook, because all my international ones are over there.
I also use Linkedin, Ryze and Xing for business networking needs.
Video Sharing
I have a channel on Youtube, but I shifted to Vimeo because it had a better voice and the upload times were much faster
Social Bookmarking
I use Delicious
Microblog
I am present on twitter and tumblr. My personal tumblr blog is manusrikumar.com. I don’t write the best of English and I have slowly degraded over the past 10 years. I have never tried writing in English and so I feel, I will not be able to express my views on blogs. Microblogging suits me better. Though, in the meantime, I have mastered a few other languages maybe because of influence, need or interest.
Photosharing
I used Flickr and Snapfish
Other Tools
I use Gmail, Google Alerts, Google Analytics, Google Translate, Podango, Ping.fm (though I use it rarely as I see a distiction in my contacts on different networks), Friendfeed, Pingme, Adjix, Yahoo Answers and many more….
