Super Saturday

Today was one great day! I was out on Friday night at PVR watching the movie ‘Dil Kabaddi’ which was poor inspite of having such a great line up of impressive stars.

But afterwards, we chatted with Shaishav and Govind till around 5 AM in the morning. The topic being Bollywood,Bollywood and more Bollywood. We have always had a notion that Bollywood is unreal. Nobody can lead life the way people in movies do. But, we certainly can try. Its all about living life king size and making every second count. I do admit that I always try to do this. OK, So I decided that in any case, I was going to wake up early and go to the Gurudwara to attend Amar’s wedding. Harsh called at 8 AM and I woke up. I had hardly slept for 2 hours, but I decided that I had to go. Naval also woke up and we got ready. Dipu arrived at 9 30 and we picked Harsh too and left for the Gurudwara.

We did loose our way at times but finally managed to reach in time. This was the first time any one of us was going to see a wedding happen inside a Gurudwara. The atmosphere was really calm and we sat through the wedding. We understood the customs involved in a Sikh marriage and it was a fun affair afterwards with a photo session.

We came back to Maharaja and had lunch. Rice and Dal Palak. The answer to the calling of an empty 1 PM Saturday stomach. We then went to Lifestyle and bought some coupons which we were gifting the newly wed.

Came back home and slept again for 3 hours. We had to get ready for the reception at Country Club. Me and Naval left for Sarjapur at around 6 30 where we met Dipu,KT,Jassi and Jammu. After finishing touches to hair styles and tie knots, we left for the reception. There was a whole gang from SVNIT. Around 25 of us. After hugs and hellos, we started to dance. Dancing is a rarity in Bangalore these days and that too dancing to a Punjabi DJ, even rarer. I had to make the best of the chance. We danced non stop for 2 hours and then sand some of our trademark SVR songs including ‘Kala Kauwa’ and Anilwa’s song . We were all excited to meet each other and had a great time together. In this busy world, atleast as everyone puts it, and us being torchbearers of the India’s sofware industry, its very rare that you meet and you defnitely need some occasion to catchup.

We talked about old times, sang songs, pulled each others leg. After dinner, we again chatted, send goodbyes and parted ways. I am not too sure when I am going to meet some of them again. I met some of them after almost 4 years, but today was truely special. Thanks to Amar for the lovely party and cheers to all my friends from SVR who made the day special. Now, I am totally tired and hitting the bed.
