Simply Surat !!!!
It has been great till now. I am at the Computer Lab of the Civil Engg Dept using the internet. I am waiting to meet GJ Joshi Sir.
Chakra and me landed in Surat at 4 30 AM today and went to my favorite haunting place in Surat. No prizes for guessing - CHAMUNDA. After chais and khammans there, we left for SVR. We reached the college gate at around 5 30 and found heavy security at the gate. A lot of people wearing ID cards had come for their morning walk. By, a lot I mean around thousand odd and everyone is paying 200 bucks for the ID card. Now this is great stuff.
We werent allowed inside and had to wait for Chattan to come out and take us inside. We went to the newly constructed H-10 and chatted for sometime. After taking a bath, we left for a round of the college campus. I didn’t find many changes. Everything about the college looks the same except for a few new buildings. We went out and met Panditji and Bhavani. Afterwards Arindam who works in Surat came to the gate to meet us. We had two rounds of tea and joked about old times. Vibhu Tripathi then came over and we had two more rounds of tea. We then left for the canteen where we met Shekarbhai, juniors, Sridharbhai and others. We were also given a rousing welcome by Mr AK Shukla, our Maths teacher of first year. We sat down, had another round of tea. We talked about old times and how we were part of all pangas that happened during our time. We then went to the Mech Dept and met AV Doshi Sir who taught BMS in the first year for me. Doshi Sir gave us gyan on how important it is for us to do a post grad and we also talked about the effect of the recession. We also had a long 2 hour chat with Dr DV Bhatt about entrpreneurship and the importance. Everyone here is of the opinion that I have slimmed down! Yippie…I am waiting here to meet Dr GJ Joshi Sir. To conclude, I am having a lot of fun and chais!
Will update later. I am not sure about plans for tomorrow..either Pune, Bombay, Daman or maybe Lonavala????
